AhlulBayt News Agency: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that Tehran’s firm military response to Israeli aggression prompted the United States to intervene directly by striking Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities.
Pezeshkian emphasized that the United States is the main force behind Israel’s hostile actions against the Islamic Republic.
He noted that Israel, with American support, launched an unprovoked attack last Friday, targeting senior Iranian military commanders, scientists, and civilians, including women and children.
After more than a week of conflict, the United States officially entered the war by launching direct strikes, as Israel struggled to respond to Iran’s retaliation.
In the early hours of Sunday, U.S. forces bombed Iran’s nuclear sites in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan—an act Pezeshkian described as a clear violation of international law and the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
During a cabinet meeting on Sunday, the president reiterated that this aggression confirmed Washington’s central role in fueling Israeli hostilities against Iran.
He added that the U.S. strikes were intended to rescue Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from his government’s failure to counter Iran’s military response.
Pezeshkian praised Operation Truthful Promise III, carried out by Iranian armed forces, as a powerful and strategic answer to U.S. aggression.
He concluded by calling for national unity, urging Iranians to set aside differences and mobilize their collective strength to defend the country’s sovereignty.
